 Yes we all know them, they're a friendly and
 warm bunch one minute, they promise you wonders...
 a new career, a new life, a new job, but then... 

 Here's a few rules you may want to observe when dealing
 with a recruiter...and also...let's not forget our point of view.

 


Things they do wrong
  • Never return your call
     
  • They don't understand that you could be a future client
     
  • Lose your resume / application
     
  • Try to make you feel special when they want something
     
  • Won't tell you anything about the vacancy
     
  • Don't employ enough Australian consultants - why are they all English?
     
  • Never receive any feedback on your interview unless your successful
     
  • You never speak to the same consultant twice ?
     
  • Say they are different than other recruiters

  • Say their name wrong
     
  • Think that they work for us (they don't you know)
     
  • Forget the job we applied to and make an obvious poor attempt to cover this
     
  • Phone the recruiter and say "I can't talk at the moment"
     
  • Turn up to their registration with a week's worth of shopping
     
  • Turn up to the registration after bathing in a bottle of perfume
     
  • Give them a 1 hour lecture after being declined for a job
     
  • Have your voice mail switched off and be non-contactable
     
  • Password protect your resume so that they can't open it !?!
     
  • Use strange email addresses
