A recent report by the SMH on labour higher has highlighted an interesting gap in states across Australia, with Western Australia showing a demand increase of 7.8%. That’s fantastic news for an area which has recently been under the spotlight for potential slow-down. Surprisingly, New South Wales demand fell by 0.3% and Victoria rose by 1.8%, whilst Queensland also dropped by 0.8%.
However, overall the economy as a whole grew by 1.3% for the first quarter of 2014. This makes interesting news for those considering either permanent and/or contract moves. There’s a great deal of data to support positive news, but you need to scratch the surface to isolate individual sectors.
